Top 5 genre

I always thought that my reading was a little more diverse, but it isn’t. Children’s books, crime stories, and fantasy are the most dominant genres in my very small repertoire.

1. fantasy: YA fantasy, urban fantasy, any fantasy really
Harry Potter series (J.K.Rowling)
Hunger Games (Suzanne Collins)
Chronicles of Ixia (Maria V. Snyder)
Song of Ice and Fire (George R.R. Martin)
just to name a few (very, very few)

2. middle grade books and children’s books
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Rick Riordan)
The Thief Lord (Cornelia Funke)
Felicity Gallant series (Melanie Welsh)
43 Old Cemetery Road (Kate Klise)
again just to name a few

3. crime fiction
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (anything Christie really)
Beneath the Bleeding (Val McDermid)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larsson)
Flavia de Luce Mysteries (Alan Bradley)
Postmortem (Patricia Cornwell)

4. historical fiction
Phillipa Gregory – Changeling
Sam Thomas – A Midwifes-Tale
Celia L. Grace – Saintly Murders
Markus Zusak – The Book Thief
most of the historical novels that I know are written by German authors:
Iny Lorentz -Ketzerbraut
Andrea Schacht – Der Dunkle Spiegel

5. science fiction
Peter David – Into the Void
Ryan Attard – The Pandora Chronicles
Beth Revis – Across the Universe
